What is social responsibility?
When people are infected by a disease in the name of duty, I have my utmost respect and salute for them. If the event leads to death, who is held responsible? This is a question worth pondering.
The gloom of SARS outbreak lingered strongly in my mind. After been through the wearisome period of SARS where code alerted was orange, I cant help but draw a link between social responsibility, from the victim's point of view, as well as the carrier's (of the virus).
There are people who put others before self.
There will always be others who put self before others.
The infected SARS virus carrier who went for his coffeebreak at a kopitiam; the infected Hand Foot Mouth Disease (HFMD) carrier whose mother insisted that he attended school but covered up the blisters by wearing long sleeves, pure ignorance? Or can I put it as pure selfishness?
