Part 1 - Random thoughts
My ThinkPad is surprising light, that is, if the attached DVD pad is detached. What a day trying to access free internet access using the wireless device. Not a productive day, I would say, so I guess will work till late tonight. Afterall, there is no need to wake up early tomorrow morning.
Part 2 - Money thoughts
I am not the man in the Nissan Sunny. I do not benefit from the 20% personal income tax rebate, which is capped at $2000. For all I know, my income less various deductions such as relief for supporting parents, etc means that I am not taxed. Whatever the excitement about the rebate means nothing to me. Translate it into layman terms simply means that "I have not yet arrived and/or not quite reached" (economic status).
I am not the man in the BMW. I have no assets, whatsoever, and do not benefit from the removal of death tax (estate duty). Except for "natural assets", I think I do not benefit from this death tax thingy.
I am below 51 years. Hence, happiness surrrounding medisave top up does not bother me. (Again not benefitting).
I am looking forward to Public Assistance, a rise in 13.8% in terms of aid provided this year. Alas, I am disqualified from applying simply because I earn "far too much" to benefit from P.A. .
I guess I can pin my hopes on good news from health care related bonus. People like me in the middle income group, unfortunately, are going to be disappointed.
What is there to look forward to? Am I rejoicing?
Well, at least I am looking forward for Integrated Resorts to open. By then, maybe I 败家 (lose all my $$) and transform into the very needy. Taking care of my welfare would become one of Gahmen's top priority.
When being accessed, the size of the dividends I would received is to be tied to the value of the property I am living in. For all I know, I cannot even afford a flat. But because I live with my parents in a landed property means my share of dividends will be proportionally smaller.
Be self-sufficient and not depend on Gahmen?
Hmmm, then why the need to cast my vote?
