Stories for real

When I was a pupil, my teachers told me wonderful stories. One of which that I remembered vividly was the world’s population growth. Mankind will eventually experience population boom. Food shortages, and most importantly, lack of fresh potable water will strike mankind as a result of demand exceeding supply. Epidemic will keep the figures in check. Natural disasters will take away lives as God’s way to control population boom. Death comes as a result of prolonged illness, as well as poor sanitation for the badly hit areas. As I think back, natural disasters, be it earthquakes or Tsunamis, strike countries noted for huge population boom. India, Indonesia, Myanmar and the most recent Sichuan, China. Proper birth controls may be inadequate. In these countries, either the education policy is not robust, or that the government, for some religious reason, are pro-birth.
One may pity the lost of innocent lives. If not for war, natural disasters plus epidemic will be two measures in place to defy population boom.
