I was down with a bad flu and was advised to avoid strenuous exercise. “No jogging for you.” But hey, I need to do something about it to get my regular dose of endorphins. I was prepared to do some light exercise, walk 9 km, yes, 9 km so as to get “high”. Literally speaking, I was at the highest point on the Southern Ridges and by looking left and looking right, was able to capture some scenery.
The terrain changed from “metal” to pavement/road to “wood”, to forest trails and finally pavement. Considering the advice given by the media to avoid feeding monkeys, I was disappointed to see none of these primates. There were durian trees along the road though.

I completed my journey in about two hours. And I asked myself, “Is that all?” Gosh, did I expect more?
Proceeded to the Northen part of Singapore to get some more endorphins. This time, there are more lush greeneries and man-made landscapes. As I ascended, the air up there became fresher and hopefully would clear my mind and my heavily blocked nose. I was delighted to see a pond full of lotus, a small pond nonetheless, but at least better than nothing.
For me, I must have walked a total of more than 12km.
Who says the sick cannot exercise?
