I have a choice

I have almost wanted to buy a smart phone. One that will enable me to access the internet while away from the workplace. One that will let me check emails, respond to emails and even perhaps, MSN chat. Then again, do I want to be a slave to technology?

I always think that it is not efficient to work when am not officially working. The poor body would be looking forward to rest and recreation, but there again, the beep sounds of the smart phone would indicate new incoming emails to be checked.

I did not bring my laptop home this weekend. I cannot be typing away on the laptop, be it done at TCC, or perhaps at home, and call that my (weekend) life. I needed a break from work, or else I could easily earn the title of Miss Workaholic 2008.

I needed to find that work-life balance in me. Whoever says my profession is easy with lots of official off days, you are wrong and you better shut up. I am just glad that I have made the right choice of leaving my laptop at my workplace. I have a choice. I have the rights to enjoy my weekends. A lousy day playing is always better than an efficient day working.

(Ricetable)

My brains are thankful to me for granting it much needed sleep.
My tummy is grateful to me for allowing it to feast on Indonesian Ricetable buffet.
(As I ate at the Ricetable buffet, I suddenly felt very blessed, very blissful, very relaxed. This is pathetic as how some people see it because it is an ordinary buffet. Then again, I have been deprived of this basic enjoyment due to busy work schedules.)

Now, I certainly feel happier.
Need I say more?
