That is the time clocked by Kenyan, Kibet, to pocket S$53,000.
What a good timing indeed.
For Kibet, he endured 12 months of frustration and trauma in his hometown. Determination and courage probably spurred him 42km forward to victory. He must have been on cloud nine.
2 hours 13 minutes
This would have been approximately the time taken to watch an epic movie, or perhaps, rejuvenate after a facial. Imagine being S$53,000 richer completing either, heh.
It is heartening to know that Cerebos employees did not forget being charitable, donating S$100 for every 1km ran. In all, S$91,000 was raised. They must have been happy and felt proud of themselves.
If I were to take part in next year's marathon, I would, for sure, make sure that it is ran for a good cause. Doing my part for charity would be a good motivation to start myself on the half-marathon.
I did not go to this year's Marathon, not as a spectator, nor as a participant.
For me, happiness took place in a different form.
Cuddling my new born niece for the first time and listening to her fart was music to my ears, literally.
