Having won literally nothing in lucky draws, I really wonder is it my luck is that lousy.
Sure-win lucky dips, those that you walk away with useless vouchers that come with terms and conditions. You usually have to spend X dollars at some shops in order to redeem the vouchers.
During the G-S-S which ended last month, I was fortunate enough to win a packet of coffee beans. Branded, as it origins from Coffee bean and tea leaves. The portion is huge enough and is about one month's supply of coffee.
What am I to do with the packet of coffee beans? Consider myself unfortunate as the prize seems useless.
Again, what do I do with coffee beans?
Coffee beans need to be grinded and they need a special coffee plunger in order to brew a cuppa. Next, you need to add sugar to sweeten and creamer/milk for extra flavour.
And so I unwillingly bought myself a coffee plunger, and began to learn to brew my own cuppa.
I made a trip down to Coffee bean and tea leaves, whose staff manager kindly offered to grind the beans for me free of charge. I spent the next 15 minutes learning how to brew coffee.
This is something different from the 3-in-1 coffee mix that I drink.
With the kettle, I need to first boil water, next, measure 2.5 tablespoons of grounded coffee powder and pour it into the coffee plunger. After which, add exactly 250ml of boiling water. The boiling water must be let to “rest” for 3-4 minutes in order to bring out the full aroma of the coffee beans. The coffee plunger must be pushed down, or rather, plunged down so that coffee is forced to rise while the powder stays below with the help of a sieve attached to the plunger.
Pour the coffee into a mug and add sugar or creamer as desired.
Phew, drink a cup of kopi also need time and effort.
Next time just buy from the coffee joint la.
This blog seems like writing a short story, wonder why did I write it in the first place.
