The Christmas that was...

I have been looking at Christmas trees in SG for the past 4 years or so. The standard has dropped, nonetheless, over the years, reason being, too commercialized. All the glitters and bright lights décor, nothing close to bringing warmth as one would do when sitting under the Christmas tree with loved ones.

To name a few Christmas trees that I have seen:

At Mount Faber – tallest in SG, And then ?
At Paragon – Glitters, that's about it.
At Raffles City – plain is spelt with a capital P.
At Suntec City – Artistic but more effort can be put in.

A Christmas tree that brings warmth to people is hard to come by, especially this year.

All that is left is a photograph of the Christmas tree I took in 2006. I admit it was not a good shot, not my standard, but at least that is all that is left as long as memory lasts.

(At harbourfront in 2006)

This very Christmas tree, adorned with teddy bears, took the headlines in The Straits Times one day last year. Located at Harbourfront, Singaporeans had conveniently plucked teddy bears décor off the Christmas tree and bring the plushies home. Speaking about shoplifting at broad daylight !
