(Neighbour's house on fire)
(Picture taken from my window)
(Use of water hose)
It had rained cats and dogs. All of a sudden, lightning flashed, followed by a loud boom. The loud boom had awakened me. Never before had I hear such a loud boom.
The weather was cool and I went back to sleep. It was an afternoon nap. I was tired. Later, voices of people talking and my neighbours' voices woke me up again. This time, I looked out of the window. There were 2 police cars and 1 fire engine.
Fire!!

(Removing the tiles)
Some ladders were taken out from the fire engine and SCDF personnel climbed up to the roof.
Moments later, I thought I saw technicians. I was still blurry-eyed. They, together with the SCDF personnel, climbed up to the roof and inspected the damage. They had to "secure" the premises. For all I know, the fire had been put out and yet, smoke was still coming out from the roof. Some tiles were removed for inspection. Next, a water hose was dragged from the 'source' up to the roof where tiles had been removed. My neighbours, the elderly couple, were at the car porch. Meanwhile, their son had rushed back from work. He stayed to assist the policeman, who was writing a report. I had my camera with me all along and took a few pictures of the smoke and the personnel in action etc... ...
